Evacuating Pets

After Hurricane Katrina states were required to re-examine their readiness to evacuate and shelter pets during an emergency. Most pet shelters require a crate and a leash. You should also have food, water, and medicines for your pet in your emergency kit. It is also helpful if you bring vaccination records, water bowls, and plastic bags.
